“Many Lives, Many Masters” – Brian Weiss

“Many lives, Many Masters” just seems to pop up unexpectedly through out my life. It’s on my friends bookshelves, in convos with people I didn’t know were into spiritual stuff, Kylie Jenner’s Instagram, etc.

K. But lemme back up here and tell you who Brian Weiss is. At the beginning of the book we are introduced to Dr. Weiss; clinical, respected, traditional psychiatrist that believes things should be proven using the scientific method aka NOT into past lives.

When the book opens, he is treating a patient named Catherine for her phobias using hypnotherapy. He asks her to go back to the time when her phobias first began, expecting a childhood memory and…. she starts talking about drowning in 1863 B.C. Well, this wtf moment took Dr. Weiss by surprise and ultimately changed the course of his life.

The book then goes on as we follow Catherine’s journey of healing as she recounts numerous past lives. The most riveting part for me however, is that while under hypnosis, she begins to speak in a voice different from her own. Through Catherine, a group of highly evolved souls called the “Masters” speak to Brian about the ways of the universe. I love their messages so much that I circled all the parts of the book where the Masters are speaking so I can go back and reference their words.

“A life cannot be rushed, cannot be worked on a schedule as so many people want it to be. We must accept what comes to us at a given time, and not ask for more. But Life is endless, so we never really die; we were never really born. We just pass through different phases. There is no end. “

Not trying to be dramatic here buttttt, this book changed my life. I read it in High School and had a complete perception shift from “maybe past lives are real but death seems kind of scary” to “WHO WAS I BEFORE THIS?”.

So I set to find out. About 10 years ago I went to a Brian Weiss seminar for a past life regression. I’ll save all the details for another post, but he hypnotized us and I saw myself as an Arizona cattle rancher. The message I got from that life was to be kinder to animals. I decided to be a vegetarian in third grade and moved to Arizona for college. So yeah, it was a really cool experience.

If you want, through the magic of YouTube, you too can be hypnotized by Dr. Weiss’ in his past-life regression video. Please, please, please contact me if it works and you experience a past life memory. I want to know all about it!

“Many Lives, Many Masters” is also available on Audible– my favorite way to “read”.
